What We Offer Caravanners in Mandurah & the Peel Region

Rockingham RV Centre sells caravans, repairs them and stocks the parts, all from one site on Dixon Road.

If what you need is not on that list, send us a message and tell us what you are after, because our workshop also takes on custom work.

How to Prepare for the Drive to Rockingham

You can see our current stock online before you drive up. Every van in our caravan stock search has photos and full specifications, so you can work out which ones are worth the trip.

When you come in, bring:

  • Your tow vehicle, if you can bring it. Matching a van to a car is far easier when the car is in front of us.
  • The towing figures from your vehicle’s handbook or compliance plate.
  • A rough idea of where you’ll be towing, because a run down to Margaret River asks less of a van than a season up north.

We’ll go through the van’s weights with you against those figures, and we’ll show you the compliance plate rather than an advertisement.

Have a look at what is in the yard before you make the drive.

How to Choose a Caravan Dealer Near Mandurah

We’re a family-owned business, and our yard, our parts shop and our workshop all sit on the same block in Rockingham. If something needs attention on a van we sold you, you can bring it back to the people who sold it, and you won’t be chasing an agent interstate.

Our workshop is a certified repair centre recognised by all the major insurance companies, so insurance and warranty jobs are handled here rather than referred on to somebody else. We hold 240V and gas certifications, so the electrical and gas work stays here as well.

Most owners add to their van over time, and our technicians fit:

  • Solar panels and charging systems
  • Lithium battery systems and inverters
  • Suspension upgrades
  • Awnings and annexes

Repairs, Servicing & Parts for Mandurah Caravan Owners

A van kept near the water at Halls Head, Silver Sands or Dawesville sits in salt air all year. You usually cannot see salt corrosion until it has spread. Before a long trip, check:

  • Window, hatch and seam seals
  • Chassis fittings and anything unpainted underneath
  • The floor, for soft spots that point to water already in
  • Wheel bearings and brakes, if the van has sat unused

It costs little to stop water ingress, but considerably more to put it right once it has reached the floor.

Our caravan repair and service workshop covers insurance claims, warranty work, safety inspections and full rebuilds. We can pick up and deliver within 30 km of Rockingham, and we can organise an emergency roadside collection if you’re stuck.

Our parts and accessories shop is on the same site, with spares, fittings and replacement parts on the shelf. Ring ahead with the part you’re after, and we can check it for you.

How to Get to Our Rockingham Showroom From Mandurah & Perth South

We’re at 89 Dixon Road, Rockingham WA 6168. From the Mandurah foreshore, it’s roughly 32 km, which is about half an hour on Mandurah Road or the Kwinana Freeway.

If you are coming from Perth or anywhere along the south corridor, we are a straight run down the freeway. We look after buyers and owners across:

  • Mandurah and the wider Peel region
  • Baldivis and Kwinana
  • Secret Harbour, Port Kennedy and Golden Bay
  • Safety Bay and Waikiki
  • Cockburn and the rest of Perth’s south

If your suburb isn’t on that list, ring us anyway. The drive is much the same across most of the Peel and Perth’s south corridor.

How Caravan Weight & Towing Rules Work in WA

Your caravan carries two weights on its compliance plate: the Tare, which is its weight empty, and the ATM, which is the most it may legally weigh once loaded. The difference between them is your payload, and that has to cover your water, gas, tools, spares and clothing. We will go through both figures with you against your own vehicle’s rated towing capacity and your licence class before you commit.

The Department of Transport publishes the current WA rules on towing, trailers and caravans and on licensing a caravan or camper trailer.

At Rockingham RV Centre, we’d rather ask what you tow, where you are planning to go and how long you are away at a time, than hand you a brochure. We’ll tell you straight if a van isn’t right for you, because a van that’s wrong for your car is a problem you’ll be living with for years.

Come and see the stock in person, or ring us first and we’ll tell you what’s arrived. If you want to look at finance, our caravan finance page explains what’s involved.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far is the caravan showroom in Rockingham from Mandurah?

Our showroom is at 89 Dixon Road, Rockingham, which is about 32 km from the Mandurah foreshore and roughly a half-hour drive. The quickest route is usually Mandurah Road, or the Kwinana Freeway if you’re coming from the eastern side of Mandurah.

Can you do a gas certificate for my caravan?

Yes. We hold gas certification along with 240V electrical certification, and both are done in our own workshop rather than sent out. Certification is often needed after a modification, after an insurance repair, or when a van is being sold, so book the van in before you need the paperwork rather than once somebody is waiting on it.

Do you collect caravans from Mandurah?

Ring us with your street address, and we’ll check it against our collection radius, because Mandurah sits close to the edge of it. If you fall outside, you’re welcome to tow the van up yourself. Book it in with us first so it isn’t left waiting in the yard for a spot. We can also arrange an emergency roadside collection if you’ve broken down rather than planned the trip.

Can I sell my caravan on consignment if I live in Mandurah?

Yes. Consignment means we sell your van from our yard, which puts it in front of buyers who are already looking, and it saves you fielding calls at home. Our consignment page sets out how it works and what we need from you.

Can I buy caravan parts over the counter?

Yes. Our parts and accessories shop is at 89 Dixon Road alongside our yard and our workshop, stocking spares, replacement fittings and accessories. Ring ahead with the make, model and year of your van, and we can check the shelf for you.

What should I check before towing a caravan back to Mandurah?

Set your mirrors so you can see past the widest point of the van, check tyre pressures on the car and the caravan while they’re cold, and load the heavy gear low and over the axles rather than at the back. Take the first few kilometres gently and pull over once to check that nothing has shifted. Our guides on caravan tyre pressures and towing tips for beginners go through it in more detail.
