Small & Mini Caravans WA

A small caravan is easier to tow, easier to park and easier to set up. You can get into campsites a big van cannot reach, and you will not need a large four-wheel drive to pull it.

Eaglet Mini Caravan M330 small caravan

Eaglet Mini Caravan M330

The M330 is our smallest van. It is 4,625 mm long and 2,005 mm wide, with a double bed at the front and a bathroom at the rear. Inside you get a kitchen with an induction cooker, a 75-litre fridge and a 70-litre water tank. The body is sandwich panel on a hot-dip galvanised chassis.

Eagle Warrior 10ft off-road hybrid small caravan

Eagle Warrior 10ft Off-Road Hybrid

The Warrior 10 is 5,420 mm long with a 1,600 kg tare. It has a fold-out queen bed, an internal ensuite and an external pull-out kitchen. It carries 115 litres of fresh water across two tanks, 200 watts of solar and two 100 amp lithium batteries. The roof lifts with Eagle’s assist system, so setup takes a few minutes.

Barefoot Classic lightweight small caravan

Barefoot Classic

The Barefoot Classic is the lightest van we sell, at 960 kg tare. The fibreglass shell sits on a galvanised chassis. Inside there is a kitchen, a bathroom with a basin and shower, and a U-shaped lounge that folds into a 6ft bed. Its water tank is only 30 litres, so it suits shorter trips.

How Small Caravans Compare to Larger Models

Check the ATM against your own vehicle’s towing capacity, towball rating and GVM before you buy. If those terms are new to you, our caravan weight guide explains each one. Bring your vehicle in, and we will go through the numbers with you.

ModelLengthTareATM
Eaglet Mini M3304,625 mm––
Barefoot Classic12 ft960 kg1,200 kg
Eagle Warrior 10ft10 ft1,600 kg2,250 kg
Eagle Warrior 160CX16 ft2,200 kg2,850 kg
Eagle Warrior 190CX19 ft2,832 kg3,500 kg

The differences are significant. A Barefoot Classic weighs about a third of a 190CX loaded. That changes what you can tow it with, what it costs to run and where you can take it.

What you will give up is space and water. The two bigger Eagles carry 190 litres of fresh water in two tanks, against 70 litres in the M330 and 30 litres in the Barefoot. On long remote trips in WA, that makes a difference, because the distance between taps can be several hundred kilometres. For south west and coastal trips, where you refill often, a small van is the easier choice.

How to Set Up a Small Caravan

Both the M330 and the Warrior 10 sit under 2.5 metres high, so check your carport or garage before you buy. The Warrior 10 has a lifting roof and four wind-down stabiliser legs. The M330 has a fixed roof, four stabiliser legs and a manual step. Neither needs poles, ropes or canvas, which is the main reason people move from a camper trailer to a small van.

Frequently Asked Questions

What counts as a small caravan in Australia?

There is no official size limit. Most buyers mean anything under about 16 feet, or under 2,000 kg tare. Our range starts at 4.6 metres and 960 kg. The number that matters for towing is the ATM, not the length, so compare on weight first.

Can I tow a small caravan with a family car?

It depends entirely on your vehicle. Every car has a rated towing capacity, a towball download limit and a GVM, and all three have to be checked, not just the towing figure. Look them up in your vehicle handbook or on the compliance plate. Bring the details in, and we will go through them with you before you commit to anything.

Do small caravans have a toilet and shower?

All three of ours do. The M330 has a rear bathroom with a toilet, sink and shower. The Warrior 10 has an internal ensuite. The Barefoot Classic has a curved bathroom with a basin and shower. A bathroom in a van this size is usually a wet room, so the shower and toilet share the same space.

Are small caravans cheaper to run?

Generally yes, on fuel and on tyres, because you are pulling less weight. Registration and insurance depend on the value of the van rather than its size, so a well-specified mini van is not always cheaper to insure than an older larger one. Servicing costs are similar, since the wheel bearings, brakes and seals need the same attention either way.
